The STScI Problem Report System is used to record and track hardware and software problems, and to monitor Problem Reports from initiation through closure.

Becoming a registered user is a simple process which has the following advantages:

• Each user will see default values automatically entered on Problem Report submission and update forms.
• Each Problem Report submission is tagged in the system with the authenticated user name.
• Each comment appended to a Problem Report is tagged in the system with the authenticated user name.

Here is a summary of the functions which are available:

• Submit a new Problem Report - This function lets you create a new Problem Report
• Search for a Problem Report - This function allows you to search for an existing Problem Report and then view the contents of those Problem Reports found by your query.
• The Register User - This function is available when you aren't logged in and allows you to become a registered user.
• Edit account - This function allows you to change your account password or other information.
• PR# - Enter a PR number in the space, and this function lets you view the entry for an existing Problem Report. You may then "scroll" to the next and previous Problem Report from the page displaying the existing Problem Report by using the navigation arrows at the top of the page.
• Comment/Modify - This function lets you add a new comment or change existing comments for a PR.
• List Active PRs - This function generates a lists of PRs that are not closed which are sorted in priority order. By clicking on items in this list, you can view the contents of the PR.
• View the Rap Sheet Reports - This function allows you to generate views of Rap Sheets based on the subsystem and the date range for which you are interested.
• Show the History for PRs - This function will show the modification history of a Problem Report and allow you to view previous versions of a PR.

• Modify - This function lets you modify the fields found in the PR.
• Fetch - This function lets you view the entry for a Problem Report in plain text.
• History - This function will show the modification history of a Problem Report.
